PROJECT
Situated
on a gentle sloping hill, the property borders two streets with a splendid
view of Mt. Hood and downtown Portland. This daylight ranch was
constructed in the 50's - the main floor had a number of small rooms
(e.g., kitchen, living, powder room, two bedrooms, etc.) and low ceilings.
We
gutted the entire upper floor and started fresh. An open feeling
was created by making the kitchen and living/dining area an open area
separated by the existing brick fireplace. The cathedral ceiling
added expanse to the living area. Five 5' x 6' Marvin wood windows
in the living area plus numerous skylights allow Susan and David a constant
view of their wooded surroundings.
Kitchen: DeWils maple cabinets with soapstone countertops.
Bathroom: Travetine tile on the floor and shower. A cultured white marble sink top. Nuheat's warm floor adds comfort for humans and pets.
Master suite: Combined two bedroom into a large corner bedroom with a walk-in closet.
In the lower level of the home, an open patio under the upper floor was converted into bedrooms and a bath. The existing family room was remodeled to make it a home entertainment center.
